Sound Transit Real Time Information is Not Available at this Time

Sound Transit understands the importance and value of "Real Time" information. Our goal is to offer this service as soon as possible.

Some of the necessary technical resources are in place for Sounder and Link in the form of existing on-board systems that capture vehicle locations. These systems are used for a variety of operational purposes. The priority right now is to make sure the portion of the system used for Automatic Passenger Counting (APC) meets requirements for accuracy and dependability. Once that is complete, we'll look into using the existing Sounder and Link on-board systems and methods to provide Real Time information at stations and mobile devices.

ST Express buses are another story. Our partner agencies are at various stages in providing GPS capabilities. Each has a different system. When they are up and running, we will work with our partners to see what is possible.
